About Matthew LaFontaine


Matthew was born and raised in Guelph and after graduating from GCVI High School he attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo receiving an Honours Degree in Business Administration in 1983. Following University he worked in the private taxation sector before embarking on his real estate career in 1985. 

Matthew’s extensive knowledge of Wellington County and the Waterloo Region has assisted him with his successful Real Estate Career in all aspect of the business including urban and rural resale, new construction, new condominiums, as well as Industrial and Commercial.

In 1987, Matthew received his Broker's License and is a former owner/manager of a real estate brokerage firm. He also achieved the "Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada" designation. He was a consistent top producer through his past association with both Realty World and Royal LePage and for many consecutive years he received both "Director's Platinum Award as well as the "Diamond" Award. He also received the "Life Time Award of Excellence". 

He has been an active board member for many years of the Guelph and District Association of Realtors, and a former board member of the Guelph and District Homebuilder's Association (1999 Member of the Year Award) as well as the Guelph/Eramosa Economic Development Committee having participated on various committees and boards. 

He also has extensive construction knowledge having personally constructed two of his principle residences, been involved in numerous renovations as well as owning and managing several investment properties.  

His hard work, knowledge, skill and dedication and easy demeanor gains him trust and respect from his many clients. His ability to connect with his clients understanding their needs and goals ensures they will be provided with superior service with the utmost satisfaction and attention to detail. 

About Reece LaFontaine

Reece is a second-generation REALTOR® and Guelph native. He has an extensive background in residential construction and renovation and is involved in property rental and small-scale home renovations throughout the city. Before the transition to real estate, he successfully founded and sold a profiting electrical contracting business. It was when he purchased, renovated and sold one of his first rental properties, that he discovered his passion for the business. 
A high touch and professional sales representative, Reece values the trust clients place in him and focuses on all aspects of the business—whether it be navigating the journey for first-time buyers, finding a successful investment or providing valuable renovation guidance to craft the perfect home. His construction expertise, deep knowledge of Guelph and candid approach help clients to make informed, secure decisions. The real estate journey can be a stressful one and Reece ensures that it’s positive and rewarding.
When he isn’t working, you can find Reece walking his adopted dog, Oz, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying his many favourite spots in Guelph.
