About Matthew LaFontaine
Matthew was born and raised in Guelph and after graduating from GCVI High School he attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo receiving an Honours Degree in Business Administration in 1983. Following University he worked in the private taxation sector before embarking on his real estate career in 1985.
Matthew’s extensive knowledge of Wellington County and the Waterloo Region has assisted him with his successful Real Estate Career in all aspect of the business including urban and rural resale, new construction, new condominiums, as well as Industrial and Commercial.
In 1987, Matthew received his Broker's License and is a former owner/manager of a real estate brokerage firm. He also achieved the "Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada" designation. He was a consistent top producer through his past association with both Realty World and Royal LePage and for many consecutive years he received both "Director's Platinum Award as well as the "Diamond" Award. He also received the "Life Time Award of Excellence".
He has been an active board member for many years of the Guelph and District Association of Realtors, and a former board member of the Guelph and District Homebuilder's Association (1999 Member of the Year Award) as well as the Guelph/Eramosa Economic Development Committee having participated on various committees and boards.
He also has extensive construction knowledge having personally constructed two of his principle residences, been involved in numerous renovations as well as owning and managing several investment properties.
